I fell in love with a new polish from China Glaze. They just released their winter collection, inspired by Cirque du Sole. This Polish is It's A Trap-Eze, a jelly creme with a white base, and it's bursting with multi-colored glitter. It looks like my finger nails are candy!
It's a perfect polish for parties, and for the holidays. It looks a bit like Christmas light in the snow, don't you think?
When I am feeling sick or unhappy, I go shopping for nail polish.
I am a true nail polish addict, and my friends know it. I have been sick recently, and one of my friends sent me a care package full of sparkly nail polish! This manicure uses some of the awesome glitter she sent me.
I used O.P.I. Jade is the New Black for the base, and then put the blue green glitter on top.
Then I added some pieces of tiny iridescent glitter she sent to me in tiny jars. I love tiny things!
Aren't they adorable? The don't lie down smooth, but I don't mind a little bit of texture on my nails.
It is so nice to have someone know you well, and my friend is the best!
I used to be very big into Halloween, dressing up, having at least two different costumes, giving candy out. I love it. But this year I am sick and can't go crazy, so here is my Halloween manicure.
I kept it simple, orange with black half moon manicure, covered it black and orange glitter.
Pumpkin glitter comes in fun bottles, and I love that!
This is my last post of the time warp challenge. I've had a great time, and tried lots of new things. But I'll be glad to go back to manicures that are simple and match my outfit, instead of trying to figure out what to wear to match my manicure!
This last challenge was to pick on the the manicures the other contestants did, and to do our take on it.
I chose to do The Polish Squirrel's "Lights, Camera, Action!" mani, which was based on the fairy tale of the Twelve Dancing Princesses.
For those of you who know me, you know that I'm a fairy tale junkie, and even spent a summer cataloging as many different fairy tales from all over the world that I could find.
This fairy tale is about twelve princesses under an enchantment that forces them to dance in a dangerous underground kingdom each night until their slippers wear out. There father is desperate to find out why his cobbler bills are so high, and offers the hand of any of his daughters to the man who can figure it out. After many failed attempts, and army man comes, and through cleverness, and a magical invisibility cloak, solves the mystery. Each night he follows the princesses and steals a branch to prove his finds. The first night, a silver branch, the second, a gold, the third, a diamond branch.
So I HAD to do this mani.
Plus it was super cute.
The biggest difference between my mani and The Polish Squirrel's ( besides her having neater edges...I can never NOT get my fingers!) is that her branches go from tip to nail bed, and mine go from nail bed to tip.
I did a black background with Wet N' Wild Black Creme, and used Wet'N Wild chrome gold, and metalics silver for my index and middle finger, Sally Hanson Chrome for the ringer finger and some rhinestones, and then more glitter and top coat.

This is challenge seven of eight, which means the Time Warp challenge is almost over. :(
The theme was to pick something that was once popular, and has remained popular. Although there are many fashions and things that earn this high praise, there was only one in my mind. And this highlander of fashion, this timeless, peerless anomaly was the saddle shoe.
I have personally loved saddle shoes since I was a little girl in my first pair. They have been popular since the 1930's, were extremely popular in the 50's, and really, have always enjoyed a certain amount of popularity.
They are everywhere right now, in flats, high heels, patterns, you name it.
My ode to the saddle shoes is pretty basic. I used a base coat and my white NYC colors, the used my black nail art labeled "Time Out" to paint the black details.
Next I used my nail brush to add the white dots, and laces.
Yes, I am holding an ice cream cone shaped bottle of bubbles with my saddle shoe nails. It seemed appropriate.
By the way, I love this design, it looks lacy and feminine and is so much fun to look at.
